The best tacos I've had in Cincinnati, hands down. I get the chicken and it's absolute perfection! If you go, you're going for the A+ tacos, don't go expecting a fancy hipster atmosphere. This place isn't about that. It's about the food.

Please note, they seem to not have good ventilation (or perhaps none at all) so you will leave smelling like Mexican food. If this is not your fragrance of choice, and it's not laundry and hair washing night, I recommend placing a to-go order.

I probably read Yelp reviews 5 times or so before I came here so I felt really prepared. (Thanks everyone!)

Stopped in for a late Saturday evening dinner. The menu was pretty big and covered all the usual suspects of a Mexican place: chimichangas, burritos, fajitas, etc. I stayed focused and ordered 3 tacos: steak, chorizo, marinated chicken all with onions and cilantro. My date, who is probably a connoisseur who lived in LA for a while, ordered chimichangas. We also shared guacamole.

The service was friendly and quick. My tacos came COVERED in onion and cilantro so if you don't enjoy either of those things, ask for a light portion or on the side. They give you your choice of tortilla, I got corn tortillas (flour might hold up better) and the meats were all pretty darn good. There's no cheese or sour cream offered but I'm sure you can request sides if that's your thing. I loved everything. My date enjoyed his chimichangas as well.

Two of us ate for less than $25!

There's not much in the way of ambiance and it looks more like a diner. I don't know what they're doing with the area next door but it was dark and didn't appear to be in use. That being said, there are a few booths and a counter to order and eat at. We will definitely back and next time we're bringing our own cerveza!

I recently went to Taqueria San Marcos for lunch with coworkers and I was IMPRESSED by the food. First and foremost the prices are beyond affordable. 3 tacos for less than $8 sounds good to me! And most of their lunch dishes were around $7! And of course if you're needing more food they serve chips and salsa!!

Of the sauces they provided I LOVED the green one. Everyone at the table did. They said it was the second level of spice but everyone at the table agreed it was ok! I personally can't handle spicy and only found their hottest sauce (a tan color) to be spicy. However others thought even the salsa with the chips was spicy so to each their own.

I ordered the carnitas tacos and they were perfectly tasty and just enough where I was full but not too tired to go to work! From others I heard the steak and shrimp tacos were also delicious!

As far as location street parking was easy. The front room was cute, almost diner style. The building is rather old but don't let that turn you away. There's a counter with plenty of space if you want to eat alone or lots of tables and booths. I will definitely be returning, whether to sit down or get food to go.

Golden Foodie Rule: When your food-stylist friend experiences a moment of gustatory bliss that the server mistakes for a heart attack, you go to that restaurant as soon as you can. Ever since I learned of Mary's "moment," I've been dying to go to Taqueria San Marcos.

This little gem operates in a classic, 50s-era chili parlor (formerly Murray's Chili), tucked away in a residential part of Norwood that the Rookwood developers have not [yet] un-roughened.  A curvilinear bar with classic, diner stools in red/silver vinyl dominates the main room; we sat there since diners (exhibiting no signs of cardiac events) occupied all five booths when we arrived.

The server greeted us with a friendly smile, and a basket of homemade chips and salsa, all complimentary. We ordered queso and guacamole to complete the dip cycle, thereby bringing the colors of the Mexican flag -- red, white, green -- to our meal. Olé!  A cooler full Fanta, Sangria Senorial, Mexican Coke, and more flavors and colors of Jarritos soda than I ever knew existed contribute to the palette.  Mexican pop music on the radio. Sizzling fajitas.  Senses working overtime.

The menu is overwhelming...in good way; I want to try everything! I start with a classic -- burrito especial -- served piping hot in under 10 minutes with a side of rice and beans.  Delicioso. Same for my husband's trio of tacos in steak, pulled pork, and chorizo, the latter of which made me reach for my defibrillator.

I don't know why sometimes I read the reviews and order wrong anyway. On my first visit, for some reason I was not in a taco mood and ordered the enchiladas. Read the other reviews. They are not wrong. The enchiladas did not wow me in any way. My office is close and I had a strong recommendation from a friend on the tacos so I went back.

The tacos are the real freaking deal. I tried a few. Steak, chorizo and pork. Each was delicious. Corn tortillas were spot on, and the sauce options were all delicious.

Unlike the other review that was down on the chips and salsa, I found them delicious. It's not a chunky style but the flavor is there.

I can't wait to go back.
